Azure DevOps Engineer

 Our well-established client is expanding their DevOps team and is looking for a driven and motivated Software Developer or DevOps Engineer to join their team.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with the SRE and the wider engineering team, as well as the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the most experienced professionals in the IoT and cloud domain. With this support you will establish DevSecOps techniques and technologies across a broad and ever-expanding range of cloud infrastructure and services.

In particular, it is creating an exciting new range of Internet and cloud-connected smart products to exploit the opportunities provided by the rapid growth of the Internet of Things (IoT). 

Title: Azure DevOps Engineer
Location: Remote with occasional travels to the office based in the South West of England.
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000pa
Term: Permanent, full time

Your mission:
The client is looking for an Azure DevSecOps engineer to help drive clients business to the next level. This is an exciting opportunity to work on data-driven products and services in the Internet of Things space.

Your main responsibilities:
  • Help maintain the service catalogue of cloud and mobile assets, managing access, change control and operational well-being.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with the development team
  • Implement automated monitoring & alerting for all essential cloud services
  • Implement security-orientated automations such as Azure KeyVault
  • Manage cloud assets such a keys, certificates, and DNS requiring manual intervention and engagement with third-party providers.
  • Maintain records to assist in the financial management of all cloud solutions
  • Keep accurate records and documentation to facilitate all the above.
Skills and experience required:
Essential
  • Experience working in software development or DevOps
  • A desire to support development teams and the operational maturity cloud services
  • A desire to learn about modern DevSecOps practices and technologies
  • Well organised - an excellent record keeper with good documentation skills
  • Customer focused
  • Takes responsibility for and proactively manages service quality
  • Good team player and communicator
  • Passionate about technology and its application to smart home automation.
Preferred
  • Knowledge/experience of coding applications hosted on Azure PaaS, noting that this could be a little as 1 years' experience. 
  • Other cloud platforms, especially AWS
  • Science/engineering degree
