This is a varied role, no one day is the same, your key responsibilities will be the management of broker costs/performance by analysing and monitoring all drivers of broker costs (comms, financing, rebates, borrow, axe, internalisation, etc.) and negotiating comms/financing/etc. rates with Prime/Execution Brokers. You will also be authorised to conduct discretionary trading and take investment decisions.
Working with a vast amount of data (markets and information), you will be deciding on flow allocation, ensuring optimal allocation and monitoring trends in broker market share, evaluating Exchange liquidity providing schemes, building and maintaining exchange cost models, plus research evaluating existing/new broker offerings & negotiating improved products, solutions.
On the Trading side, you will be involved with Treasury Management utilising firm-wide currency balances for yield enhancement and trading FX swaps, Fixed Income instruments. You will have the day to day management of a sizeable book ($XBln) and conduct ECM trading (execute primary & secondary block trades).
You will have skills and experience from working in a trading firm, with a good understanding of broker costs and a genuine interest in expanding your knowledge in the field. You will have basic Treasury Management knowledge (bonds, FX swaps); trading experience an added bonus. Experience in Tableau/Python/SQL skills are highly desirable.
In return, the client offers a competitive salary, c £75,000 - £90,000 + pa, plus a discretionary annual bonus. There is a 20% tax break in place and accommodation in shared private housing is also paid for as part of the package along with, pension, comprehensive Health Care Insurance, including Dental coverage, life assurance & Income Protection, subsidised gym membership and regular company and team events.
