FiX On-Boarding Specialist.

THE ROLE:  With a trading & technical background You will join a small team whose aim is to understand more about market microstructure, in particular surrounding order entry, assist with the evolution of the trading platform and expand the company's broker connections & traded markets/technology capacity.  
With scope for you to elevate your skillset, You will join in a new operational role, as the Broker On-Boarding Specialist (FiX). Using your 2-3 years experience in the industry, in a Client/FiX on Boarding position, You will have a focused role, relating to FiX On-Boarding and Certification of different Brokers/Algos that the company wishes to trade with, across global exchanges and different asset classes (FX/Equities/Futures & Options). 
As the FiX Broker On-Boarding Specialist, You will work closely with the trading desk & developers, understanding the interactions with the trading platform. You will be the first point of contact for any broker sessions related issues firm-wide, which at times could be trading critical and will require a lot of thought and technical skills, both to diagnose and to resolve or improve. 
Staying on top of Broker/Exchange Technology updates, You will be responsible for trading connections & market connectivity-related projects and daily tasks to ensure EMS & OMS systems are in good shape. You will conduct UAT & Certification testing for Exchange mandated changes, new connections, new brokers, new protocols, new functionalities offered by brokers or exchanges and be an escalation point for Trading Sessions related issues. 
You will also collaborate with developers to improve existing OMS & Certification systems, live alerting and gather information for new projects or colocation related work.

Salary:           £45,000 - £55,000 pa + low tax + Bonus + Accommodation + Training. 
ABOUT YOU You will need an understanding of application support, databases and the operational aspects of production systems, along with your experience of Client/FiX on Boarding (or exposure to a front-office algorithmic trading environment), basic SQL knowledge for data extraction, networking experience and TCP/IP concepts.  
As a collaborative team player, capable of working towards a collective goal, You will be able to manage multiple tasks, thrive in a fast-paced environment and be keen to improve your understanding of systematic trading and financial markets. Working with the team, you need to be proactive, intellectually curious, have a problem-solving mindset,  organised and with good communication skills. 
Working with a leading global Hedge Fund on the buy side, this is a great chance to get exposure to data visualisation tools (PowerBI/Tableau), data extraction tools (SQL) & coding languages in particular Python.
